You have probably heard an enormous amount of information on how to keep busy and keep yourself healthy right? Well as we all know, staying active is one of the best ways of staying fit but that is so easier said than done when you have to work in a sedentary position, and I will get to the importance of hobbies in a moment. This is why I like to take plenty of breaks and since I have been doing this it has really improved the way that I feel, as well as increasing my ability to work longer hours. This is a really beneficial change because I did not used to do things this way. I used to actually sit for too many hours at one time and this seemed to make the days go by so slowly that I did not think that I could stand it. This is something that a lot of people seem to go through, but the amazing fact is that you do not have to do very much research before you realize that the answer is a very simple one. This means something as basic as getting up and taking frequent breaks from your routine, your mind and your body will definitely thank you for it.
I know, it seems like a difficult thing to get in the habit of doing and you also may be thinking that this could hinder your performance right? You may think that taking breaks will mean less time to dedicate to accomplishing your daily duties, but this is really the exact opposite of the way that it worked out for me anyway. So I started taking it easy for a little bit every couple of hours and the next thing I knew I had more energy so the end result was that I actually accomplished more work each day. The logic behind this is that I was refreshed and I actually had more energy, you may find this works well for you too, and you have to admit is that this is quite logical.
Now, when I get home from work I tend to enjoy relaxing by working on one of several hobbies which I have. One of my favorite hobbies is gardening and that really keeps me moving. As you can see by the photo, I absolutely love tulips. It is funny though because my second favorite hobby is collecting things like antiques and coins as well. I like the older items which hold a lot of historical interest for me. I also enjoy tinkering with computers and other technology based devices today. So the funny thing about that is that most of my hobbies keep sitting in a sedentary position just like my situation at work which I was just explaining to you! I happen to feel that the same approach to staying healthy when relaxing is to take breaks from those hobbies just like I would during the work day.
Basically this means getting up and walking around for a little while either indoors or outside if the weather happens to be nice at the time. Otherwise I would just sit there hour after hour and we all know that this is not healthy for our minds or our bodies. I am not however one to go into the gym or use many exercise types of equipment so don’t get me wrong. I just believe that a little effort in changing your ways can really make a difference in your life. I know some people who spend hours in the gym exercising each week and that in itself seems a little too invasive for my lifestyle, but I am happy for those people who do enjoy it.
From what I have seen, and I have visited the inside of the local gyms before, is that they have some interesting and innovative equipment which is designed to address different parts of your body. You have probably heard about the ones for your abs or the ones for your upper body or even your legs. That is interesting and if you are interested in it then I am sure there are opportunities in your area too. The nice way to start doing any of this is to consider taking breaks while you are working, and the real idea is to stay busy doing something which you enjoy instead of just sitting around in your free time because that is not really accomplishing anything of value. There are only so many hours in the day so use them right and enjoy life a little more.
